Preston Castle and Ione Car Show.
They had old cars at the castle and down on Main Street, It was fun taking the kids back to the place where Jared and I got married 16 years ago! Preston Castle in Ione California was an old reform school of industry for troubled boys. I know, a strange place to have your wedding, but I have always been so drawn to the building! Just look at it!!
We went to Lake Tabeaud a few times for walks and fishing.
The kids had so much fun learning how to fish and cast a line with their dad! And I enjoyed documenting these moments.

Sacramento Train Museum and Train Ride
We had so much fun exploring this place and loved our impromptu train ride, where we waved at all passer-by's, admired the goats and tried to get the trucks on the interstate to honk.

Valley Springs
We walked to the old Wildermuth house. An old homestead that was built in 1861. This place holds old memories that I wanted to share with the kids. When we arrived at the homestead there was a groundskeeper on site and she let us in the house to take a peak, something I have never done before. It was pretty neat!
That evening we went to Amador high, where I graduated class of 2006, and walked the track while Uncle Justin and the kids played with the football.
Amador City and night time Fireworks
Amador City is the smallest city in the state of California and the least populous, with a population of 200 as of 2020. There was this amazingly delicious bakery that we had to go try. Then we walked around and took in the sights.
That night we went up the airport on the hill and watched the Independence Day fireworks.
Volcano.
One of my favorite little towns in Amador County. It is so much history and was once considered on the list of potential State Capital locations. Good thing it wasn't chosen. It is perfect the way it is, nice and small and full of history!
We went down to Volcano many times to visit the best bakery in Amador Co. we even went there for the Fourth of July parade
Pi Pi Valley
This place holds many precious memories from my childhood and now the kids childhood too. It has such a peaceful ambiance. The water is a bit cold but oh so fun to play in!
