2022-Celebrating our 12th wedding anniversary

Our 2021 Christmas Card photo

Welcome to my photography website. Thanks for stopping by. This website features photography projects and galleries of my favorite photos taken, which I hope you too will enjoy.
Who am I? I am the mother of three wonderful children living in west Texas where my husband serves in the U.S. Army. West Texas offers many great photo opportunities. Check out my family photos that I have taken on my family.
My journey: My artistic journey with photography was born out of my love for creating art in various forms. In 2013, I started with my little point and shoot camera and soon found that I really loved photography. My next camera was a mirrorless camera, which I purchased in 2015 and have since upgraded to newer models. My favorite photographs are those documenting daily life, capturing life the way I see it. Although I am very serious about photography, I consider myself a hobbyist photographer who loves the challenges of various projects that I create for myself.
In 2021, my personal project comprised a color to focus on for photographs each month of the year.
In 2022, my 365 Project included taking photos (almost) every day for a year.
In 2023, my portrait project involved portraits of each of my three children every month. In this way, I was able to document how much they grew throughout the year.
In 2024, my FILM project was a unique one where I shot on nine of my film camera, with a variety of film types not just 35 mm. The results were always a surprise and it was thrilling to get the scans back from the lab after waiting a week or so.
I am planning on carrying on with film and bring it into my light and shadow project in 2025.

MY FEATURES:
In 2019, this photo was featured in the last issue of the National Geographic Your Shot Blog.
In 2020, this photo was published in the very first edition of the This Detailed Life Magazine based out of the UK.
In 2023, this photo was exhibited in the International Museum of Art in El Paso, Texas.
This photo that I titled, BYGONE WEST, ranked fourth place for the Architect category in the 2024 Click VOICE competition. I have entered about four times into this annual competition but never placed anywhere, so I was a bit surprised to find out that I was a finalist! Over 40, 000 images submitted, with 15 best in category winners and 45 finalists. I feel so honored to have placed!

Here is what the Judes said in their critique about my image:
"This image cleverly uses architecture to highlight architecture, framing the weathered structures through the dark, rigid lines of the window. The contrast between the enclosed interior and the open buildings beyond creates a layered perspective, drawing the viewer’s eye deeper into the scene."
I have been featured numerous times in the Click Community's Blog. Here are my features.
